Library Policies

6th, 7th, and 8th grade- 4 books
Books are checked out for 2 weeks at a time. After that time, the book is considered overdue.
If a book is lost, a fine, equal to the price of the book, will be issued.  If a fine is paid and the book is later found and returned before the first day of the following school year, the fine will be refunded. If a student has a fine on their account, they will only be allowed to check out 1 book at a time, until the fine is reconciled.

What does a Flexible Schedule mean for my child?

A flexibly scheduled library means that your child will be able to come to the Lamar library media center at any time of day with his/her teacher’s permission to check out books, research, or use the makerspace. A flexibly scheduled media center also means that your child teacher’s can sign up to bring his/her class at any point during the year. This type of schedule gives classes the freedom to use the media center and its services at their greatest point of need instead of having to wait for a scheduled block of time every other week.

Flexible access involves three important elements:
– access to the library/media center space and makerspace
– access to its resources
– access to its services

Volunteers are always welcome in the library.  There is always so much to do and extra hands are welcome!  If you would like to volunteer, please fill out the volunteer background information check, and fill out this library volunteer form.
